VW slumps to first quarterly loss in at least 15 years

Volkswagen has reported a quarterly loss for the first time in 15 years
German manufacturer Volkswagen has presented its financial results for the third quarter. This is for the first time when one of the largest automaker in the world after the "diesel scandal" has declared its financial report.
The operating loss of Volkswagen in the third quarter amounted to 3.48 billion euros against a profit of 3.23 billion euros in the same period last year. The index exceeded the forecasts of analysts, who had expected that it will be 3.3 billion euros. The loss was the result of "diesel scandal", causing the concern to put aside 6.7 billion euros for a device costs, that eliminates the environmental standards to the statutory parameters. A real loss was for the auctioneers that assumed 1.73 billion euros this year compared to the 2.93 billion euros a year earlier.
On Monday, October 26, Bloomberg published a statistics of vehicle sales in the world for the first nine months, according to which the German company lost the title of world leader in terms of car sales. At the first line is published the Japanese Toyota. The Japanese group sold 7.49 million vehicles the first nine months of this year, while VW index reached 7.43 million.
